Playing with PNG files and wallpapers...

Click this image for more info on PNG files...

I have been making some PNG files for you! :) Quickly, for those who are unfamiliar, PNG files have a transparent background around the image. Meaning, that the border you see as white, isn't there when you insert the image into a digital project.

I know that Photoshop is the software of choice, but for those of you who can't afford it, or don't have the hours to learn how to use it, PhotoScape (FREE!) is a great alternative! (I haven't received any favors from PhotoScape for this...)  Using PNG images makes it even better for collaging images. If enough people comment on this post, I'll do a tutorial on how to use PhotoScape (I use it for 80% of the work that I do and have been using it for about 3 years) and how to create with PNG and JPG images.  It is really cool and has lots of potential for creating fun, dynamic collages.

Enough blahblah... here a few PNG images! :)

Here is a jumbled idea of what PNG images can do.. note that the frame is empty, and the box shadow is translucent to the subject below it... and the tag over the frame..

Do you need the JPG format too? I'm not sure what people out there are looking for.. I'd love to offer what you need, so speak up and I'll do what I can!

Also, I have been playing with the idea of making wallpapers but there are so many screen sizes out there and creating a dozen different sizes just doesn't seem like fun. But a few I can handle..  :P I have done a trial image, if you try it let me know how it works. Again, if you want them I'll make more! (my screen is uber large so it's hard to gauge how it'll look on yours.)

MAY CALENDAR WALLPAPER:

I have made a few more wallpapers for you and also have more PNG's but I can't share them all today. I need something for tomorrow!

Antique Collection Tags

I love antique/vintage science text, images, and  prints. This photo I took at a science museum not too far from us. It is a bird's nest from 1915.  (You may use the image ABOVE or PERSONAL USE ONLY. Thank you.)  Love the tag most of all though. I took the image above and snapped my fingers on Photoshop and viola! Tags just for you (and me)! You may use the tag images any way you'd like, just please do not reproduce the page below or images for resale! Again, thank you!

These tags would be quite easy to make. You can cut down manila tags found at office supply stores to this thin shape (LOVIN" the thin shape) or you can cut a piece of manila folder to the above shape and add an eyelet or brad. Some tea/coffee stain or distressed ink stamping and your done!

Happy Creating!

Photos for you...

I have been enjoying summer, although here in NH, we have had nothing but rain for what seems like eternity! The sun shines rarely and I think we are all going very stir crazy!
I have a lovely Robin who had settled house in one of our hanging baskets on the porch. Here is a photo of the couples lovely eggs for your personal use. Cards, tags, art, scrapbooks, what ever your heart desires! (Just please do not sell the image or use it for commercial use without my permission.)

Isn't the blue amazing?? That is the actual color! What I wouldn't give to have some of those for my Egg Tree at Easter.. You can see more photos of the nest at my blog, Down Abbie's Road.

Another image for you... buttons. Who doesn't love antique buttons?? Again, please only for personal use or contact me.

Hope that you are being creative and enjoying the day!
