Les Modes Parisiennes, Illman & Sons Giveaway!!

French couture is always a good thing! This antique plate was offered in Peterson's Magazine.  It was one of many original handcolored lithographs supplied with the monthly Periodical in the mid 1800's. Each print was hand colored by the artist, as thus, each magazine had it's own, original work of art in it.

This is a high resolution scan, one of four that I have for you. I think, perhaps we are in need of a giveaway here on The Vintage Moth!!  Just leave a comment on this post and let me know what you might do with them to be entered to win FOUR ORIGINAL, HANDCOLORED prints! (I'm just curious.. perhaps you'll inspire a new idea for someone!)

Oh, my it has been awhile!

Oh, this season has been full.. it has been so long since I posted, I apologize! I added a new widget at the bottom of the site that is fun. If you scroll down you can see all of the different countries that visit this wee site. Who knew the worldwas so small? :) Thank you for visiting, it is humbling to see so many from so far come to peek around.

I have more images for the new year and can't wait to share them as well as new ideas, etc.. hope that you are fabulous, and that the season is treating you well!

I scanned these from an 1887 Farm and Home newspaper that came from my grandfather's attic. The mice got the corners but you get the images! (minus the musty smell.. bllleeeaaaaagghhhg..)

Thank you for your patience.. your continued support and your friendship! My life is slowly calming down, although now the pull of the outdoors is calling. We have chickens now, gardens to plant, veggies to grow, sheds to build and it's all good. Hope that Spring is taking root in your lives and that goodness is flowing! (or Autumn, depending on which hemisphere you are in!)
