I just stumbled across your wonderful images. Thanks so much for sharing.
Just a tip that I picked up on the Internet: when you scan images that are two-sided on lighter-weight paper, place a black piece of construction paper on the back of your image (between the image which is face down and the lid of the scanner.) Voila! No "back" images showing through to your scanned image. It really works!
