All Hallow's Eve

The Grim Reaper, Cinderella, Baby Bunny, hubby and I went visiting this evening. (I was disguised as a 'disgruntled housewife'.) The pic is of my aunts woodstove. They are used readily here and it was throwing some lovely warmth into the kitchen sitting room. Hope everyone had a safe, spooky, Halloween!
(I am steadily working on listing all the price changes and updates in my shop. Skeleton keys, antique and vintage costume jewelry, seam binding ribbon, vintage trims, Dresden paper trims, and wallpaper packs are all in the works!)

November Sale

Well, if you have been curious as to where I have been and what I have been up to, here it is. Starting Wednesday, Nov 1, every item in my shop is 20% off. Everything. The entire month. I sent out a bazillion postcards, (front and back shown above) and had so much fun designing them. I think that is what I truly enjoy about my little Internet store. The designing, packaging, layouts. It is all very enjoyable. (which is a damn good thing, cause I really don't make very much!) Anyway.. here are a few pics of new items, but plenty more abound.. peeks will be posted every now again, and I'll always post new items here before I put them in my shop. Because most everything is vintage or antique, quantities are limited and so is my time. I am still raising a family through all this. Well, trying anyways..

Come for a drive with me...

Here are some pics I took on my way home this afternoon. It was overcast, and had rained all day yesterday. My husband spent a few hours today helping a friend drag a moose out of the woods. It is the first day of moose season here. The only way you can hunt one, is to enter a 'lottery' and have your name get picked. Hunting season starts soon for deer. As some of you know, I live with a hunter. (He is a Biologist in his spare time) My 'Knight in Blaze Orange'. :) We have three, yes THREE, mounted heads in my living room. Two dear and a black bear. We also have a record brook trout. I would love to say my house is filled with Victorian treasures, lace and fine china, but I live with a man's man, and instead, we have plaid fabric and bird decoys on the shelves. In our formal living room we have shed antlers on the bookshelves and a gun over the fireplace. I do love it though. I tend to get along with everyone and I also love all types of decor and styles. I feel just at home in contemporary modern as I do in country, or formal victorian. Perhaps that is why I love to have my shop. It is my tiny feminine world with delicate flowers and pretty tidbits.
Oh, isn't that barn window great? and the old metal fence? that's not my house, (although it is very similiar), enjoy your drive down a NH road.

Oh, what a weekend..

We laughed, we cried, we had fun, we were sad. So many things happened I don't even know where to start. Fins, our Beta Fish, got sick and was swimming sideways. We were sure he was on his way out and talked expectantly to the kids. Since Thursday he had been looking horrid. Well, now on Tuesday, he has miraclulously recovered and I am very happy, to say the least. He keeps me company (he sits in his bowl on my kitchen island and watches the world go by) and I would miss him if he were to pass on.
As far as the rest of our weekend, we went to the Sandwich Fair (not about sandwiches, but held in the town of Sandwich, NH). The drive is truely lovely, especially this week, because of the folliage. We are about to hit peak color and the landscape is starting to vibrate with colors. The pic above is one I took on the way home of a most gorgeous horse farm. White fencing line all the fields and the drive is a straight shot to the farmhouse. Oh, it is most delightful! We saw the typical oxen, fowl, and food. Baby A got a bit restless after an hour so we packed up and drove home. Sounds foolish to travel so far to only stay a short time, but it gets so crazy and with 3 little ones to keep track of, the ride is the most pleasant part of the journey.
My inlaws had to put one of their dogs down. Happens often, I know, but they are dog people and Cocoa used to be my husbands dog before we met and were married. she is buried on our hillside and enjoys a beautiful view of our field now. Happiness and sadness went hand in hand this weekend, but in the end it was all good. In the words of Dori ' just keep swimming, just keep swimming..'
oh.. T got a vicious cold and I think everyone else in the house is about to catch it.. it never ends..

Spook-a-licious!

I've had so much fun playing with some images I found in an 1890 Medical Reference Book. I picked up the book at a town wide yard sale this past weekend. Some of the thoughts and cures are unbelievable! (and VERY spooky!) This delightful creepy dude is for sale in my shop.. I know, I know, Halloween is still a month and a half away, but with much persuasion from my eight year old, I have started to decorate the house. Below, my spooky man hangs from a black, scraggy tree on my kitchen counter (sans vintage seam binding). Have a spook-tacular-day!
ughh. that was just not right.

A new, autumn inspired add to my SHOP. A roll of 15 pages of antique sheet music and paper lace, tied with vintage buttons! The sheets are so large I had to roll them for easier shipping. Other 'new' antique items are also in the works. I have aquired some FABULOUS papers (including wallpapers), buttons, and trims but I just need more time! If I could stretch naptimes and my waking hours it would be great, but a mother of three active children needs to sleep too. Alas, laundry and meals also need to get done. :( My time to play is limited so I must go! Enjoy!

Christmas!

Ok.. I know.. I know.. alittle early but I'm already thinking about it! I love to decorate, and can't wait til the weekend after Thanksgiving to start. Last year we had our families over for both holidays and I'm sure we'll do the same again. Its so nice not having to go anywhere with the kids. They can run around in cozies and enjoy the day, instead of being cooped up in a car for hours on end. Above is a glimpse of my kitchen last Christmas. (its not so neat right now!)

Merry Christmas!

New Hamp-shaa Birthdays...

A New Hampshire holiday weekend filled with family, flowers and lob-shtah. My father-in-law's Birthday was this weekend and as tradition goes, we have family over and feed everyone Lob-ies. Ayuh. Big uns. 2 and half pound-ahs. My sister-in-law brought the blooms from her gardens. Ayuh. Garden's'. (Plural) She has the most gorgeous green thumb! I hop everyone else is enjoying the first of two holiday weekends. (With the 4th in the middle of the week we get two!)
PS.. A quick update to my previous post... my ultrasound went fine and everything is OK! Yeay!!
