Tension Between Apples
Monday, March 22, 2010 at 8:44AM Do you sometimes feel like an apple? No really, an apple. I know I do. Or, are you a banana? Let me explain. First, bananas.. they nestle together, they are form fitting and blend well with the surrounding other bananas. They usually move together, towards a goal or just towards their uncertain end. But they are together, sharing in the adventure of life with others, very similar to them.
I, on the other hand, am an apple. Usually rather solitary, I am lacking in the close, self protecting relationships of others who are very like me. As shown in my photograph, there is only a small window of personal contact with apples.
It is hard for me to get too close to people. Mind you, I have very close relationships with those who fit in my bowl, but it's tight quarters and there never seems to be enough room for everyone. But, because of the natural design of a banana, they can join the world of an apple and fit perfectly! By nature, I think most children (those of which do not have underlying social issues) are bananas. Most artistic adults, I find, are probably apples.
What do you think? Apple? Banana? There is no wrong or right answer.. it just might help you understand how you fit into your world a little bit more.
I really need to get out of my bowl and move around!
OR am I just a fruit*??? hehehee..
xoxo~

I totaly agree, I think when I was younger, even in High School I was a bannana.
But Now I am definitely a Apple. Love your humming bird Picture. I have a little
hummbing bird that just loves to pose for me. I have a couple of great shots of
Him!
Have a great day!
This is an interesting concept. Never thought of myself in terms of a fruit. Probably because I was involved in cultivating the tree to get the fruit.
I tend to believe that given your example, the apple would be best. I have noticed a tendency of banana's to go rotten in their close proximity. Apples you usually wrap and put into a box, then put in a bowl, still plenty of air. Yes, apple would be best to cultivate.
APPLE! Definetly apple here as well.....enjoyed reading your post, made me think about apples and bananas...do you know that when you put an apple to unripe fruit the get ripe fast or bad fast. That's why bananas get so ripe when they are next to apples.
Smiles, Anke ;)
I've never been much of a banana... an apple maybe, but I tend to think I'm more like a tangerine or orange... tough outside skin, but once I'm peeled I can be pleasant (or sour!).
How interesting... Had never thought of it this way, but I think that I am more of an apple, too. Oh dear! That can't be good!
i came over at vee's suggestion, as she is my hero.
what an astute observation!
it seems to me that many bloggers would be apples,
because even though we are expressing our hearts
here, we are also very solitary while doing it.
my loving friends and family tell me frequently that
they had to persevere past my 'appleness'.
i am very grateful to them for that.
blessings,
lea
Hi Abbie
I came over from Vee's blog. I really enjoyed this post ..I think most of the times I am an apple but live in the banana bowl..lol
I loved all the wonderful photographs I saw on your other posts. The hummingbird looks like a jewel...gorgeous! We never see them here but I am fascinated by them.
Thanks!
Pat
great post; apple and oranges; apples are smoth and contain a star at their center, oranges are rough and if caution is not used can squirt in your eye
I'm an apple, no an orange, heck a banana...I think
oh crap maybe I'm jello
Well, crap. I was thinking banana, then read the comments and have changed my mind. I think I just want to be a banana, I have a need for the rest of the bunch. Maybe we all started out as bananas, and morphed as we started thinking on our own. Like Frances said, too much closeness breeds decay. I think maybe I'm a grape...singular minimal contact, but still connected.
There's still snow in my yard, where there's not mud. I don't know how much more I can take, especially after the palm trees. All crafty/creativeness has been sucked dry by the mud. Actually bought cake at the grocery store, shows how bad it's gotten!
I am an apple, but I do admire the bananas in this world. I guess it's all good, huh?
